In small quantities, dark chocolate may actually be good for you. Dark chocolate is naturally rich in flavonoids which act as antioxidants. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants (nearly 8 times the number found in strawberries).
1)Recent studies conducted both in the U.S. and Europe seems to support chocolate’s beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system.
2)To balance certain hormones in the body
3)Dark chocolate has also been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) by up to 10 percent.
4)Studies have shown that consuming a small bar of dark chocolate everyday can reduce blood pressure in individuals with high blood pressure
5)Dark chocolate is good for your heart. By eating small bars of it every day can help keep your heart running well thus help protect against heart disease
6)Besides it tastes good, it stimulates endorphin production, which gives a feeling of pleasure,
7)it contains serotonin, which acts as an anti-depressant and also
8)it contains theobromine, caffeine and other substances which are stimulants
9)Some of the fats in chocolate do not impact your cholesterol. The fats in chocolate are 1/3 oleic acid (healthy fat that is found in olive oil), 1/3 stearic acid (saturated fat but one which research is shows has a neutral effect on cholesterol) and 1/3 palmitic acid (also saturated fat, one which raises cholesterol and heart disease risk). That means only 1/3 of the fat in dark chocolate is bad for you.

me in trouble again :UNWANTED VISITOR
Last week I suffered from the following symptoms (blame pee em ehss):
1. fatigue
2. mood swing [over and extra happy]
3. slight “depression”; hence, my entry “Frustrating”. Yes, I admit that I was a bit cynical.
4. everything I wore did not meet up to my capricious mood
Today, I’m in distress by this pathetic cramp that I’ve been having for the past four hours. When will women be liberated from the PMS and menstruation?!
Don’t mind me, I’m just typing this entry as a guide for men to understand women better. Should a BoyFriend/Husband leave his GalFriend/Wife over PMS?
arrr… what a day~
PMS
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), also known as premenstrual tension (PMT), is a group of symptoms linked to the menstrual cycle. PMS symptoms occur in the week or two weeks before your period (menstruation or monthly bleeding). The symptoms usually stop soon after your period begins. It can affect menstruating women of any age.
It is different for each woman: it may be just a monthly bother or it may be so severe that it makes it hard to even get through the day. Monthly periods stop during menopause, bringing an end to PMS.

I love the rich purple color of these blueberry cupcakes made by Blondie’s Cakes and Things.
Here is the recipe they used:
Blueberry Cupcakes
adapted from Seattle Pi
Makes about 18 cupcakes
2 Cups + 2 tablespoons sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup of unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 1/2 cups of Sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup of whole milk
1/2 cup of blueberry puree
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350F and line cupcake pan with paper liners
Blueberry Puree:
- Bring one pound of blueberries (fresh or frozen) to a boil in a sauce pan. I used the berries I picked last summer and froze, and I must say organic berries will give you a much richer flavor, just look at that color! Everything was stained blue.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated (about 1/2 hour) and the mixture is thick, making sure to stir often.
- Cool the blueberries slightly and place in a food processor. Mix until smooth. For an
extra smooth puree pass mixture through a fine sieve before using, but I didn’t really bother and it was fine.
- Makes about 1 1/4 cups.
